Terms of Service
Last Updated: August 23, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Client," "User," or "Customer") and LegendPrints ("we," "our," or "us"). By accessing our website, requesting a quote, or engaging our custom 3D printing, CAD design, prototyping, or scanning services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Services & Scope
LegendPrints provides on-demand custom manufacturing and technical design services, including but not limited to FDM 3D printing (PLA, PETG, ASA, ABS, TPU, and specialty composites), 2D/3D CAD modeling, rapid prototyping, 3D scanning, and small-batch production runs.
3. Quotations & Pricing
- Estimates: Preliminary quote estimates provided via our website or email are non-binding until 3D CAD files (STL, STEP, 3MF) and design specifications have been fully reviewed for printability, geometry, and material compatibility.
- Design Changes: Modifications to geometry, tolerances, infill density, or filament choices requested after quote approval may result in updated pricing and lead time adjustments.
- Payment Terms: Custom production runs and CAD modeling projects require agreed-upon deposit or full payment prior to commencing print operations or releasing final CAD source files.
4. Customer Intellectual Property & Compliance
- Ownership of Submitted Files: The Client retains full ownership and intellectual property rights in all 3D models, drawings, and designs provided to LegendPrints.
- Warranty of Rights: The Client warrants that they possess all necessary legal rights, licenses, patents, or permissions to reproduce, print, or modify any files submitted.
- Prohibited Items: We reserve the right to decline any quote or manufacturing request that violates intellectual property rights, local/federal laws, or involves regulated firearms, weapons, or hazardous components.
5. Additive Manufacturing Disclaimers & Tolerances
Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is an additive manufacturing process with inherent physical characteristics:
- Surface Finish: FDM parts exhibit cosmetic layer lines and minor surface artifacts characteristic of the layer-by-layer extrusion process.
- Dimensional Tolerances: Standard manufacturing tolerances depend on geometry, orientation, and filament shrinkage characteristics (typically ±0.2mm to ±0.5mm unless tighter specifications are explicitly contracted).
- Non-Critical Applications: Unless certified in writing under specific engineering agreements, our 3D printed parts are intended for prototyping, functional fit-testing, enclosures, and general use. They are not certified for life-support, critical aerospace, high-risk automotive safety, or hazardous containment applications.
6. Inspection, Quality & Returns
Because all parts and CAD models are custom-manufactured to unique specifications, custom items cannot be returned for buyer's remorse. However, if a part is defective due to manufacturing error, layer delamination, or material failure outside agreed tolerances, please notify us within 7 days of delivery with photos for evaluation and complimentary replacement.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LegendPrints shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages resulting from the use, inability to use, or mechanical failure of custom-printed components or CAD designs. Our total liability for any claim arising from an order is strictly limited to the amount paid by the Customer for that specific service.
